Press Release: Firm unveils plans for Africa crypto awards

In its quest to deepen knowledge and create more wealth through trading in cryptocurrencies in Africa, a firm, the Crypto Hub Africa has concluded arrangements to unveil its maiden edition of the African Crypto Giants (ACG) awards to deserving organisations and individuals in Nigeria and the African continent.

Chief Executive Officer of Crypto Hub Africa and initiator of the awards, Gson Ebuka, who explained the motivation for the awards in an interview with journalists, said Africa is poised to be the next hub of crypto and block chain development and technology, as a new start up ecosystem emerges to help solve the region’s most pertinent challenges.

“With block chain on its way to becoming a central element in the next digital transformation of the global economy, the African continent is yet to fully tap into the technology’s full potential.

“Yet Africa is adopting crypto currencies faster than its global counterparts and the continent’s adoption of trading in crypto currencies has surged by over 1200 per cent over the last years and countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania are ranked among the top 20 of the 2021 Global Crypto Adoption Index (GCAI),” he stated.

He explained that Africa is struggling with major infrastructure challenges, which means that many people do not have access to a variety of basic services, lamenting that the infrastructure deficit had made Africa a perfect fit for the adoption of block chain technology and crypto currencies to boost financial inclusion, as well as cheaper and faster transactions.

“To that extent, the award recognises the crypto industry innovators, advocates, entrepreneurs, leaders, project, platforms and individuals, who are making impact within their organisations and driving global crypto transformation on the Africa continent.

“There are a total of 20 award categories spread across different areas of the block chain and crypto industry ranging from the Best Exchange Company in Africa Award to Crypto Communities of The Year and Crypto Friendly Organisations. The awards are intentionally crafted to celebrate Africa’s journey into the block chain and crypto space over the years,” he said.

On the nomination, voting, judgment and the final process, he explained that nominations would be received from the general public through the ACG Awards social media and Internet portals within 45 days of such nominations, adding that the 45 days time frame was to help accommodate enough nominees from across the African continent.
